Alexander Calder

A century ago, Alexander Calder arrived in Paris, redefining the language of sculpture.
“Calder. Rêver en équilibre” brings together nearly 300 works including the legendary Cirque Calder — presented in Paris for the first time in over fifteen years.

Mobiles respond to the slightest movement of air, stabiles command space with architectural presence, while wire portraits and sculptural jewels reveal a more intimate dimension of his practice.
Each piece unfolds in dialogue with light, volume, and movement — the exhibition extending, for the first time, onto the surrounding lawn.
